Arsenal legend Martin Keown has criticised the Sunderland supporters who left well ahead of full time during their side's 3-1 home defeat to Stoke City.

It took just 34 minutes for the Potters to go 3-0 up at the Stadium of Light after a Marko Arnautovic brace and a Peter Crouch goal, with Sunderland being swept aside.

Jermain Defoe did pull one back for the Black Cats before the break, but a number of Sunderland fans made their displeasure known by leaving ahead of time, as David Moyes' men suffered another loss.

For former Arsenal and England defender Keown, the Sunderland fans who left early should stick with their side through thick and thin, while he also noted a number of Black Cats players appearing not to see eye to eye.

"David Moyes has got to look at the positives and try and build from there", Keown said on the BBC's Final Score programme when assessing the game.

"But there aren't many and with the body language, when you start seeing that bickering.

"The crowd exiting as they do at that stadium, I think that's really poor.

"You stick with your team. We all play our part, win, lose together, you stay there until the end.

"It's looking now almost impossible for them to stay up, but David Moyes, has he got the capablility to do it? Will he stay in the job? We'll have to see", he added.

Sunderland are in deep trouble in the Premier League, sitting second bottom of the table with only 15 points from 21 games.

The Black Cats' remaining league games this month come against West Brom (away) and Tottenham Hotspur (home).

They have three Premier League matches in February, taking on Crystal Palace, Southampton and Everton.
