Everton are stalling on completing a deal for Standard Liege’s Ishak Belfodil as they want to see if they can bring the striker’s price down, according to Belgian outlet Voetbal Krant.

The Belgian outfit, who were unwilling to let go of Belfodil in the ongoing January transfer window, have slapped a €12m price tag on the 25-year-old as their pain threshold.

Everton have not been prepared to pay more than €10m for Belfodil and it has been claimed there is disagreement within their scouting department about how good the Algerian is.

Belfodil joined Standard Liege in the summer and has managed to make an impact, scoring 10 times in 21 appearances in all competitions for the Belgian giants, in addition to providing five assists.

But the Toffees are holding off completing a deal as they belief if they hold on until later in the window they may be able to secure him for a lower price.
