West Ham United have signalled that they will sell Dimitri Payet if the right offer is put on the table by Marseille.

The Ligue 1 club are desperate to re-sign the playmaker and Payet has refused to play for West Ham in order to force through a move.

West Ham have publicly been clear that they do not wish to sell the midfielder and have no need to do so. Club co-chairman David Sullivan said recently that the Hammers would not sell Payet this month.

But according to French sports daily L'Equipe, at a meeting with Marseille's president and sporting director, West Ham admitted they were willing to sell.

West Ham will cash in on the midfielder, but only if they are made a tempting enough financial offer, something Marseille have not yet done.

At present Payet is training with West Ham's Under-23 side and the club have made clear their wish for him to apologise for his behaviour in order to return to the first team fold.

But Payet remains determined to force through a switch to the Stade Velodrome.
