Former Crystal Palace winger Yannick Bolasie believes that ex-team-mate Wilfried Zaha is reaching the levels which persuaded Manchester United to buy him in 2013.

Crystal Palace were tormented by Slaven Bilic’s West Ham as they lost 3-0 at the London Stadium on Saturday.

The loss against the Hammers was their third successive defeat in the Premier League and they were missing their key player Zaha, who has joined his national team, the Ivory Coast, for the Africa Cup of Nations.

Since his return to Selhurst Park, the winger has been seen as a key man for the Eagles and has upped his displays this season.

Zaha’s former team-mate Bolasie, who joined Everton in the summer, believes that the 24-year-old has begun to show the form that made the Red Devils sign him.

"Wilf is getting back to the level before he left for United”, Bolasie said on BBC Radio 5 live.

"Now he's got the goals and the assists and I do think England have missed out there.

"I do think the penny has dropped for him and, development-wise, I think with the right coach the guy's got ability of someone like Neymar", added the 27-year-old.

"I'd go that far.”

Zaha has scored four goals and also has eight assists to his name in 21 appearances in all competitions so far this season.
