Liverpool shot-stopper Simon Mignolet is confident that his side can cope without forward Sadio Mane and insisted that the Reds have enough players to fill the gap.

Jurgen Klopp’s men were terrific until the end of last year, but they are yet to win a game this year and have drawn three out of their last four matches.

They are currently third in the Premier League table, level with Tottenham Hotspur in terms of points, and are seven points behind league leaders Chelsea.

Mane, who has been a crucial player for the Reds this season, left early this month for the Africa Cup of Nations, but Mignolet believes that Liverpool will be able to deal with the absence of the Senegalese.

And the Belgian pointed to when Liverpool were without Philippe Coutinho over Christmas as evidence they can cope when a key man is out.

“We are just taking it step by step”, Mignolet was quoted as saying by his club's official site.

“People said when Philippe went out of the team it was going to be a big blow but we dealt with it.

“Sadio has gone to the Africa Cup of Nations but we have more than enough players to help each other out”, added the 28-year-old.

“We have to get as many points as we can and fight until the end.”

Mignolet, who pulled off some great saves during his side’s match against Manchester United last Sunday, which ended 1-1, has made 14 appearances this season in all competitions.

Liverpool will take on Swansea in their next Premier League match and the Reds will be eyeing winning the game in order to stay close to the Blues.

Before then though Liverpool are in FA Cup action on Wednesday night, at Plymouth Argyle.
