Manchester City star Aleksandar Kolarov believes that the Premier League title race will go until the last day of the season and has stressed that his team want to be involved in it.

The Citizens were thrashed by Everton on Sunday and lost to Ronald Koeman’s men 4-0 to taste their fifth defeat of the Premier League campaign.

After the loss to the Toffees, Pep Guardiola’s men moved out of the top four in the Premier League table and are now placed fifth, just two points above their local rivals Manchester United.

Kolarov, who remained an unused substitute during his side’s match against Everton, said his team will have to be completely professional to make sure they remain in the race for the title.

“Every game is tough in the Premier League whether they are at the top or the bottom”, Kolarov told the club website.

“Guardiola wants us to be 100% professional in everything we do – if we want to win things, every small detail is important.

“I still think the title race will go to the very last day and we have to make sure we’re involved”, added the 31-year-old.

Manchester City have the chance to show they are still serious title contenders this coming weekend when they face second placed Tottenham Hotspur.

Guardiola and his men will be aiming to halt Tottenham’s run of seven consecutive wins in all competitions.
