Barcelona loanee Sergi Samper has revealed that he did not want to listen to Arsene Wenger when it came to the Frenchman trying to sell him on a move to Arsenal.

The 21-year-old, who is currently on a season-long loan deal at Granada, was on the radar of the Premier League giants.

However, Samper insisted that he let Wenger know about his intention to stay at Barcelona and succeeding at the Catalan club as that would make him happy.

"I did not want to listen to Wenger", Samper told Granada's official website.

"I told him clearly that I wanted to stay, I wanted to succeed at Barcelona, and what would make me happy was succeeding at Barcelona in the future."
