Leeds United target Alexandru Maxim is wanted by Mexican outfit Club America, with claims they are already thrashing out a contract with the Romania international.

German giants Stuttgart are prepared to allow Maxim to leave for the right price in this month's transfer window, with the midfielder having struggled to hit the heights expected this season.

Leeds, whose head coach Garry Monk is a firm fan of the schemer, were claimed to have held talks over a potential deal for the midfielder recently, but it is Club America who are making the running for Maxim.

According to the Stuttgarter Nachtrichen, the Mexican club are keen on Maxim and are already claimed to be in talks over a contract for the Romanian.

Stuttgart though are yet to receive an official approach from the Mexican outfit.
