Manchester United winger Memphis Depay has reached an agreement over a contract with Lyon for a proposed move to France in the current winter transfer window.

The Ligue 1 club have already seen two of their offers rejected by Manchester United and have also slapped in a third offer worth €18m plus potential bonuses.

Manchester United are expected to reject the third bid as they are keen to earn a fee of around €23m from the Dutchman’s sale, but Lyon have taken the next step towards signing Depay.

According to French sports daily L’Equipe, Depay has already agreed personal terms over a long term contract with Lyon and has agreed to join the Ligue 1 outfit pending an agreement with Manchester United.

However, Lyon are still struggling to reach an agreement with Manchester United as the Premier League giants are playing hardball over the negotiations despite being ready to sell the outcast.

Depay remains the club’s priority target in the winter window and they are said to be keen to get the deal over the line with Manchester United for the Dutchman before this weekend’s clash against Marseille.

However, Lyon have other targets in mind if they fail to reach an agreement with the Red Devils and could turn their focus towards them should Manchester United continue to play hardball.
