Belgian side Gent have secured an extra 1,000 tickets for their Europa League game against Tottenham Hotspur at Wembley and believe the reputation of their fans has much to do with it.

Excitement is running high around the club at the prospect of meeting Tottenham in the Europa League last 32 and the Belgian club's fans have been desperate to lay their hands on tickets, especially for the leg of the tie due to take place at Wembley.

Now Gent, following talks with Spurs, have secured 1,000 extra tickets, meaning if they sell out as expected, 7,000 Gent fans will be at Wembley to cheer their team on.

The Belgian club said in a statement: "The fact that Tottenham Hotspur agreed to these proposals has a lot, if not everything, to do with the excellent reputation of the KAA Gent supporters during our previous European campaigns.

"This means that KAA Gent, when all tickets are sold, can go with about 7,000 supporters to Wembley", the club added.
