Leeds United head coach Garry Monk expects Whites fans to create an atmosphere every bit as good as Boxing Day at Preston North End when they travel in numbers to Barnsley this weekend.

Currently third in the league table, Leeds have a spring in their stride at the moment and are going into the local derby against Paul Heckingbottom’s side with immense amount of confidence.

The Leeds fans have also responded and have packed Elland Road this season to back their team, with a healthy away support also cheering their team on away trips too. They headed in numbers to Preston on Boxing Day, packing the away end.

And another 6,000 fans are set to travel on Saturday and will cheer their team on when Leeds take on Barnsley at Oakwell this weekend.

The Leeds away support have again earned the praise of their manager and Monk feels the Whites supporters will only add to the atmosphere of the local derby on Saturday.
