Manchester City youngster David Faupala is set to have a trial at Zulte Waregem, according to Belgian daily Het Laatste Nieuws.

The striker joined NAC Breda on a season-long loan deal in the summer along with fellow Manchester City starlets Brandon Barker, Ashley Smith-Brown and Thomas Agyepong.

However, the Dutch outfit decided to cut short Faupala’s loan stint after the 19-year-old failed to make his mark at the Rat Verlegh Stadion.

Faupala managed to clock up just 186 minutes over four appearances in all competitions for NAC Breda, scoring once.

The Frenchman is expected to head out on another loan deal, with Zulte Waregem interested in snapping him up.

However, the teenager has to first undergo trial at the Belgian club, who are presently third in the league table with 40 points from 21 games, just three adrift of leaders Club Brugge.

Faupala, who joined Manchester City’s academy from Lens in 2015, is contracted with the Citizens until 2018.

He has represented France up to Under-18 level.
