Negotiations between Juventus defender Patrice Evra and Crystal Palace have been at a standstill as the French star assesses his options ahead of a proposed move back to England.

The former Manchester United star’s agent recently revealed that his client is considering a return to the English Premier League in the ongoing winter transfer window.

He also added that Evra is expected to make a decision soon and it has been widely claimed Sam Allardyce is interested in snapping up the veteran defender this month.

However, the deal has reached a standstill as according to Italian broadcaster Sky Italia, negotiations between Palace and the player’s representatives are on hold.

The defender is assessing his options ahead of committing to a move to Selhurst Park where he would be expected to be part of a relegation dogfight in the Premier League.

A decision is expected to be made in the next week or so, but Juventus have already identified Schalke’s Sead Kolasinac as the replacement for Evra.
