West Ham target Lukasz Skorupski admits that he would have to leave Roma for regular football if they sign Wojciech Szczesny on a permanent contract in the summer.

Currently on loan at Empoli, the Pole has been playing regular football this season and his performances have attracted the attention of a few clubs in Europe, including from the Premier League.

West Ham are reportedly interested in signing the 25-year-old goalkeeper, but Skorupski is scheduled to return to his parent club in the summer.

However, the competition for places at Roma is set to be intense next season as Brazilian goalkeeper Alisson is set to arrive in the summer and Roma are also considering signing their current number one and Skorupski’s compatriot Szczesny on a permanent contract.

Skorupski admits that the Arsenal loanee has been in his best form of life lately, but has stressed if Roma sign the Pole on a permanent deal he would have to leave the Stadio Olimpico as he wants to play regular football.

Speaking to Sportowefakty.pl, Skorupski said: “If they buy him then my future will not be at Roma and I have to take another road.

“I want to play and grow and don’t want to return to the bench.

"It is not the ideal scenario for a player and with respect to Roma, I would like to join a club who give me a chance to play.

“And from what I have seen in recent games, Szczesny is experiencing the best form of his life.”

Skorupski still has more than four years left on his contract with the Giallorossi.
