Arsene Wenger has ruled out the possibility of Arsenal signing wantaway West Ham superstar Dimitri Payet in the ongoing transfer window.

The 29-year-old Frenchman has been banished from first team training sessions and Slaven Bilic has revealed that Payet won’t return until he changes his attitude towards the club.

Payet wants to leave West Ham and return to his homeland in France, with former club Marseille his favoured destination in the ongoing transfer window.

While West Ham have been maintaining a public stance of not giving in to player power, the club are reportedly ready to let Payet go if they receive a fee of around €34m.

But Payet won’t be joining Arsenal for certain this month as Wenger admits that while he rates the player, he doesn’t have space for another creative midfielder in his squad.

Asked whether he wants his compatriot at Arsenal, Wenger said in a press conference: “I don’t need Payet as I have so many creative players.

“I rate Payet but it’s not an area we are looking at.”

West Ham are unlikely to sell Payet to a Premier League club and will likely want to sell him to a club from outside England.
