Chelsea manager Antonio Conte admits that the club are evaluating an offer for second choice goalkeeper Asmir Begovic.

The 29-year-old goalkeeper has acted as an understudy to Thibaut Courtois since his arrival from Stoke City in the summer of 2015 and is yet to make a Premier League appearance this season.

Bournemouth are speculated to have made a £10m bid for the experienced custodian and are keen to take him away from Stamford Bridge in the ongoing transfer window.

Conte has conceded that the club have indeed received an offer for the player and admits that Chelsea are considering the bid as they evaluate the situation with their goalkeepers.

The Chelsea boss also insisted that Begovic remains an important player for him despite the fact that his future at Stamford Bridge is now uncertain.

“We are evaluating it but the club and the player know that for me he is an important player.”

Begovic has made just 29 appearances for Chelsea and could play regular first team football under Eddie Howe at Dean Court if he agrees to join Bournemouth.
