Antonio Conte has insisted that Nathan Ake could provide with him a good option and the Dutchman has been brought back to play for Chelsea.

Ake was enjoying regular football at Bournemouth on loan this season, but Chelsea decided to cut short his stay at Dean Court and recalled the player earlier this month.

The Dutchman has been training with the Chelsea first team squad, but there are fears that he could face the same fate as Patrick Bamford who also returned from Burnley early from his loan only to be sold to Middlesbrough a few days later in the ongoing transfer window.

However, the Chelsea boss dismissed such suggestions and insisted that Ake has been brought back to the squad as he feels that the player has developed well and has the ability to play for the Blues.

Conte said in a press conference, when asked whether Ake will face the same fate as Bamford: “Nathan Ake came back with us because I evaluated his and our situations.

“He can be important for as he can play in different positions.

“He has improved a lot over the last two years and now he is ready for Chelsea, to play with us and help us.”

Ake made 12 appearances for Bournemouth this season and will be hoping to play more football with his parent club in the second half of the campaign.
