Manchester United midfielder Michael Carrick has revealed the Red Devils are aiming to keep Stoke City striker Peter Crouch quiet on Saturday.

Jose Mourinho’s men will visit the bet365 Stadium to take on the Potters in their next Premier League encounter.

Mark Hughes’ men have won their last two games in the Premier League and have entered the top half of the league table.

After struggling for playing time earlier in the campaign, Crouch has played a full 90 minutes in his side’s last three league games and has scored a goal in all three.

However, Manchester United midfielder Carrick is hopeful that his side will be able to keep the former Liverpool star at bay on Saturday.

"Credit to Crouchy, I don't think anyone can doubt what he brings to the team”, Carrick told MUTV when asked if he admired the striker’s recent scoring resurgence.

“He's quality, he's technically very good and his goals record is very good as well.

“He's having a good patch at the moment and hopefully we can keep him quiet on Saturday", added the 35-year-old.

Crouch has thus far made 16 appearances for the Potters this season in all competitions and has six goals in addition to three assists to his name.
