Rangers manager Mark Warburton has rubbished speculation over Michael O’Halloran joining Hearts this month, but admits nothing can be certain until the end of the window.

The 26-year-old winger joined Rangers from St. Johnstone last year and while he was expected to feature regularly, O’Halloran has recently found himself out of favour with Warburton.

There has also been speculation over his future at the club with suggestions that he could be joining Hearts in the ongoing transfer window, but Warburton has rubbished the rumours.

The Rangers boss insisted that the player remains a part of his squad at Ibrox and he hasn’t heard anything from Hearts about their interest in the winger.

However, he added that until the end of the transfer window nothing can be said with certainty about the player’s future.

The Rangers boss said in a press conference: “Michael is one of our players.

“I have read some bizarre stories that he is off to Hearts; I am sure Hearts manager Ian [Cathro] would have called me.

“I am sure he knows nothing about it, so do I.

“Of course until the window closes you are never sure, but as far I am concerned Michael is one of our players.”

It remains to be seen whether O’Halloran features against Motherwell in the Scottish Cup on Saturday.
