Despite suggestions in England that Marseille have abandoned talks to sign Dimitri Payet, the French giants have just sent a fresh offer to West Ham for the midfielder.

Marseille have failed with two bids for far for Payet, who West Ham will only sell for what they feel is an acceptable price, despite the schemer refusing to play for the club to force through a move to the Stade Velodrome.

It had been claimed Marseille have now given up on Payet, but according to French sports daily L'Equipe, those suggestions are false.

Indeed, Marseille have just sent another bid to West Ham, coming in at around the €30m mark.

West Ham want around €34m to €35m for the former Marseille man and are determined they will not be forced into a quick sale.

But Marseille's offer may make West Ham think carefully, especially as they have a player on their hands who actively wants to leave.

Payet's family have already packed their bags in London and headed back to France in anticipation of the midfielder joining them.

Marseille will now wait to discover West Ham's reaction to their bid.
