Aston Villa chairman Dr Tony Xia has announced the arrival of midfielder Henri Lansbury from Nottingham Forest.

The Villa Park outfit have been working on an agreement to sign Lansbury from the City Ground outfit, but the deal was delayed as Forest were in the process of being taken over.

While the takeover has now fallen through, Lansbury's switch has been waved through by Forest.

And Xia has wasted little time in saluting the arrival of the midfielder, writing on Twitter: "Welcome to Villa Henri Lansbury!"

Villa boss Steve Bruce is a firm fan of Lansbury and believes the midfielder can add creativity to his side's midfield.
