Tottenham Hotspur defender Toby Alderweireld is set to have his hamstring injury assessed over the next few days.

Alderweireld was forced off in the 65th minute of Spurs' 2-2 draw against Manchester City on Saturday and it was confirmed after the match that he has a hamstring issue.

Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino insisted after the clash that Alderweireld's injury is not serious, but the White Hart Lane side will still assess the Belgium international.

According to Belgian daily Het Laatste Nieuws, Alderweireld will have his injury looked at over the next few days, though the centre-back is not at this stage too concerned.

Spurs will be desperate not to lose Alderweireld to injury as they have just seen fellow centre-back Jan Vertonghen ruled out for six weeks.
