West Ham United co-chairman David Gold has dismissed the suggestion that the Hammers should look to blood more of their young players.

A number of West Ham fans believe that Slaven Bilic should be playing more young talents, rather than sticking with only experienced heads.

Gold disagrees and says West Ham's objective is first and foremost to win matches, asking the question of whether the Hammers should play their fifth choice goalkeeper against Manchester City, who they host at the London Stadium on 1st February.

Asked to give youngsters a game by a West Ham fan on Twitter, Gold replied: "We've got five 'keepers, the fifth best is 18 and very promising.

"Should we 'give him a game' against Man City? I thought the object was to win", Gold added.
