Las Palmas have struck a downbeat note on their chances of signing Jese Rodriguez from Paris Saint-Germain, with claims a Premier League club are ready to push the boat out financially to grab the winger.

Jese joined PSG only last summer from Real Madrid, but he has struggled to make an impact in France and is now surplus to requirements, with the recent signing of Julian Draxler from Wolfsburg not helping his cause.

He has been linked with Sunderland, Liverpool and Middlesbrough, but has his heart set on going to hometown club Las Palmas.

But affording Jese's salary is problematic for Las Palmas, whose president Miguel Angel Ramirez told Spanish daily Marca: "I've been speaking to his agent today [Monday] and there is an English club that wants to pay everything."

It remains to be seen where Jese might end up, with the clock now ticking down on the winter transfer window.
