Marseille are hopeful about concluding a deal with West Ham United for the signing of Dimitri Payet in the next 48 hours, according to French daily La Provence.

The Frenchman is refusing to turn out for West Ham as he tries to force his way out of the club to join his former employers Marseille.

The Hammers have already rejected three bids from Marseille for Payet as they do not want to lose their star player for less than they feel he is worth.

Slaven Bilic’s men want around €40m for the attacking midfielder, whose present contract with the club runs until the summer of 2021.

It has been suggested that Marseille’s latest offer is €29m plus €2m in bonuses, with West Ham yet to provide an answer.
