AC Milan forward M'Baye Niang is closing in on a move to Premier League side Watford after the Hornets reached an agreement with the Rossoneri.

Niang has continually been linked with moving on from the San Siro in the current transfer window, with West Ham linked with a bid, while Genoa were keen to keep him in Serie A.

But it appears that Niang will be continuing his career at Vicarage Road, with Watford having done a deal with AC Milan, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.

Watford will pay the Rossoneri a fee of €1m to take Niang on loan until the end of the season.

And Watford will have a purchase option set at €16m if Niang impresses during his time in England.

Watford are expected to now press the accelerator to push Niang's signing over the line.

The Frenchman was snapped up by AC Milan from Caen in 2012, with the Rossoneri beating off interest from Arsenal to land the promising forward.

He will join a side sitting in 14th spot in the Premier League in Watford.
