Southampton have reached a personal term agreement with Manolo Gabbiadini and are working to strike a deal with Napoli for the signing of the striker, according to Italian outlet Calcio Mercato.

The striker has fallen down the pecking order at Napoli and has been heavily linked with leaving the Serie A outfit in the summer.

Southampton, West Bromwich Albion, Leicester City, West Ham United, Watford and Wolfsburg have shown interest in Gabbiadini, with Borussia Monchengladbach making a late effort to snap up the Italy international.

The Saints are pushing hard for the deal and trying to reach an agreeement with Napoli, with a potential fee of between €15m and €16m, plus bonus payments mooted.

Borussia Monchengladbach are currently behind Southampton in the race for Gabbiadini, whose present contract with Napoli runs until the summer of 2019.
