Marseille have entered the race for Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic, according to French outlet Maxifoot.

The 32-year-old has fallen down the pecking order at Stamford Bridge under new Chelsea boss Antonio Conte and has been heavily linked with a move away from the club in January.

The Serie A duo of Juventus and AC Milan have been credited with showing interest in the Serbia international, whose present contract with the Premier League leaders is set to expire in the summer.

However, Marseille are now the latest entrants into the race for Ivanovic, with Russian giants Zenit Saint Petersburg also claimed to have been keeping tabs on the defender.

The Ligue 1 club, who are keen to bolster their squad for the second half of the season, recently signed Patrice Evra from Juventus and are also working hard to snap up Dimitri Payet from West Ham United.
