Rangers striker Martyn Waghorn believes Emerson Hyndman has made a difference to the team since his arrival in the January transfer window.

The United States midfielder slotted straight into the team following his arrival from Bournemouth on loan and has made a real impact in Scotland with his impressive performances.

Scoring twice and producing two more assists already this season for the Gers, Hyndman has added creativity to the Rangers midfield since arriving at Ibrox and Waghorn admits that he has brought something different to the team.

The Rangers striker also feels that Hyndman is a wonderful presence in the middle of the park for the forwards as the US international wastes little time in moving the ball forward into dangerous areas of the pitch.

Asked about Hyndman’s effect on the team, Waghorn said on the Rangers Podcast: “He has got great technical ability with both feet.

“He finds nice little spaces, gets on the half turn and looks to play the forward players in early so the likes of me, Kenny [Miller], Baz [McKay], Joe [Garner] and Michael [O’Halloran] can only benefit from that.

“He is a clever player and he has brought a lot of good forward play and movement.

"So he has brought in something different than we have already got.”

Rangers will be hoping to extract the best out of Hyndman before he returns to his parent club Bournemouth at the end of the season.
