Manchester United striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic feels it is important that his side are still in the hunt for a few trophies in the second half of the season.

Jose Mourinho’s men took a giant stride towards ensuring that they are in the last 16 of the Europa League when they scored a comfortable 3-0 win over Saint-Etienne in the first leg of their last 32 tie on Thursday night.

Ibrahimovic scored a hat-trick, taking his tally for the season to 23 goals in all competitions, and the Swede is eyeing adding more silverware to his kitty by the end of the campaign.

Manchester United could win their first piece of silverware this season when they play in the EFL Cup final against Southampton at Wembley on 26th February and with the Red Devils still in the Europa League and the FA Cup, Ibrahimovic believes it is good that they are still in with a chance to add more accolades to their bulging trophy cabinet.

“That’s the objective", the Manchester United striker told BT Sport.

"Looking at the Premier League, the first four teams go into the Champions League and one will become a champion.

"The rest will maybe not win a trophy.

“We’re still in all four and we won the fifth, the Community Shield, so if we don’t win the Premier League we’ll get some other trophies and that’s also good.”

Manchester United will travel to Ewood Park on Sunday to take on Blackburn Rovers in the fifth round of the FA Cup.
