Rangers midfielder Jason Holt admits that as players the Gers stars just need to continue to work hard and move forward despite the off field drama surrounding the club.

The Glasgow giants went into a state of turmoil after Mark Warburton left the club earlier in the month under acrimonious circumstances and Under-20s boss Graeme Murty took charge of the first team.

A defeat to Dundee last weekend showed that the off field drama has also affected the team but Holt believes it is important the players continue to do their jobs in order to take Rangers forward this season.

The Rangers midfielder also added that Murty has worked hard to get the players on board and admits that the interim manager has brought in a certain level of enthusiasm on the training pitch.

Holt said on the official Rangers podcast: “As professionals there is only one thing we can do and that’s to knuckle down and go on because everyone’s in the same boat.

“Graeme has come in and tried to work really hard and as players that’s the only thing we can give in return – hard work.

“He has proper enthusiasm in what he wants us to do.”

Rangers are desperate to get their season back on track and need a win at Inverness on Friday night to close the gap with second placed Aberdeen.
