Ex-Reds midfielder Dietmar Hamann has indicated that the Liverpool players are not as good as they have been made out to be in recent times.

The former Germany international has been critical of Liverpool’s performances and ambitions as a football club in recent weeks and has called on the club to wake up from their slumber.

A good start to the season provided hope to the Liverpool fans that this could be their year when it comes to challenging for the league title, but Jurgen Klopp’s men have won just twice in 2017.

The Liverpool players were being talked about highly when they were flying in the league earlier in the season, but they are now out of all the cup compeititions and are battling to finish in the top four at the moment.

And Hamann indicated that the Reds were being hyped a bit too much on the back of a good start to the season.
