Marseille are interested in probing the possibility of signing Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Moussa Sissoko, with Crystal Palace’s Yohan Cabaye also on their shortlist of targets.

Sissoko joined Tottenham from Newcastle United on deadline day last summer in a big money move but has struggled to carve out a niche for himself in Mauricio Pochettino’s squad.

Making just six appearances in the starting eleven in the Premier League this season, the Frenchman has remained a peripheral figure at Spurs and is considering leaving the club in the summer.

The player’s representatives are scheduled to meet Tottenham officials this month to discuss his future as Sissoko wants to play regular football next season to earn a spot in France’s World Cup squad.

And according to French sports daily L’Equipe, he has takers in France with Marseille keeping close tabs on his situation ahead of the summer transfer window.

Marseille are planning to add more midfield strength to their squad and the Tottenham man is one of the names at the top of their shortlist of targets.

Crystal Palace midfielder Cabaye is also one of the players Marseille could pursue in the summer but for the moment Sissoko remains one of their top agenda for the transfer window.

However, Marseille are expected to face competition for his signature as AC Milan are also interested in snapping up the Frenchman at the end of the season.
