Liverpool are interested in signing Paris Saint-Germain defensive starlet Mahamadou Dembele during the summer transfer window.

A product of the PSG academy, the 18-year-old defender is yet to sign a professional-contract and could leave the club at the end of the season.




His performances for PSG in the UEFA Youth League for the Under-18s have attracted the attention of a few big clubs in Europe and a number of them are trying to snare him away in the summer.

According to French sports daily L’Equipe, Liverpool are very much interested in taking Dembele to Merseyside and have already been in contact with his representatives over a transfer.
 


Jurgen Klopp remains committed to signing young players from across the world and it seems the teenage defender is in the sights of the Reds ahead of the summer window.

PSG are aware that they could lose the talented young defender at the end of the season and are ready to pull out all the stops to keep hold of Dembele beyond the next few months.

They recently held talks with the youngster’s advisers over his future and the club are hopeful that Dembele will sign a contract with the French champions in the coming weeks.

Dembele has been a regular for France's Under-18s and has earned nine international caps at that level.
