Rangers boss Pedro Caixinha has explained that he hasn’t had time to learn about the players the club have sent out on loan.

The Gers currently have three players out on loan after Matt Crooks’ temporary spell at Scunthorpe United came to an end, following a knee injury.

The defensive midfielder is back at Ibrox and needs around seven weeks to fully recover.

On the other hand, while goalkeeper Liam Kelly is presently on loan at Scottish League One outfit Livingston, midfielder Jordan Thompson and forward Ryan Hardie are at Scottish Championship club Raith Rovers.

The trio are expected to return to Rangers at the end of the present campaign and Caixinha said that they will be part of the Light Blues’ pre-season preparations as he will not have the time to assess them beforehand.

“Not that much”, he told Rangers TV, when asked how much he knows about the loaned out players.

“The players I assess on a daily basis are our players, because we need to.

“I need to assess them and need to prepare them to win every time.

“I need to assess the youth system and the players they have there.

“So I didn’t have the time to know more about those players [on loan].

“That’s the reason why they will come with us and start pre-season with us so that I can assess them closely in the context of our group, our work and training sessions.”

Caixinha, who took charge of Rangers last month, suffered his first loss as Gers boss when his side lost 2-0 to Celtic in the semi-final of the Scottish Cup at Hampden on Sunday.
