Roma have handed an ultimatum to in-demand Atalanta midfielder Franck Kessie, after growing tired of the Ivorian not saying yes to an offer.

The Giallorossi have agreed a fee with Atalanta for Kessie, but are having trouble reaching an agreement with the player, whose agent is aware a number of other clubs are keen.

AC Milan are also in the mix for the midfielder, while from the Premier League there is interest from Everton, Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea.

Roma have been leading the race however, though they could drop out of it if Kessie does not say yes soon.

According to Italian outlet Tutto Mercato, Roma are giving Kessie the next week to decide whether to accept a contract proposal worth €1.8m per season, otherwise they will move on to other targets.

The ball is now in Kessie's court over whether he will accept the five-year contract on offer at Roma, or hold out for another destination.

Kessie has been in superb form for Atalanta this season, making 28 appearances across all competitions and netting on seven occasions.

His deal with the Serie A club runs until 2021, but given the interest in his services he is unlikely to see it out.
