RB Leipzig goalkeeper Peter Gulacsi has revealed that playing at Anfield in the Champions League against Liverpool would be the stuff of dreams.

The 26-year-old shot-stopper will be turning out in the Champions League for the Bundesliga club next term and, with a six-year stint at Liverpool coming earlier in his career, the Hungarian is in no doubt about just who he hopes RB Leipzig go up against.

Gulacsi was on the books at Liverpool from 2007 until 2013, but did not make a senior appearance for the Reds and had loan stints with Hereford United, Tranmere Rovers and Hull City.

As such, lining up against Liverpool at Anfield is something the custodian is crossing his fingers for.

"Playing against Liverpool would be a dream, of course", he told German magazine Kicker, when asked what ground he would like to play at with RB Leipzig.

"I spent a total of six years there and I have many friends in Liverpool.

"But basically I do not care about the opposition. We will have lots of fun in the Champions League.

"This is an incredible success, for the club to be able to compete with the biggest teams in Europe next season.

"We also want to show that we are really good", Gulacsi added.

RB Leipzig, who have booked their spot in next season's Champions League, currently sit in second spot behind Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga, having collected 66 points from their 32 league games.

Liverpool however are not yet sure of their place in the Champions League, though do have their fate in their own hands as they sit in third place in the Premier League and will be in the top four if they win their remaining two fixtures.
