Barcelona believe Liverpool star Philippe Coutinho could become the long term successor to Andres Iniesta, if they can sign him this summer, according to Catalan daily Sport.

The Catalan giants are pulling out all the stops to get their priority target in the transfer window and Coutinho is reportedly ready to push for a transfer at the end of the season.

Barcelona are aware that they will have to dig deep for Liverpool to allow Coutinho to leave, but the club are working hard to get a deal over the line.

However, it has been suggested that they could have an ally in the Brazilian, who, it has been claimed, has already said he will move to the Camp Nou if an agreement is struck.

And the playmaker also believes that his game is suited for a team such as Barcelona and he is certain that he is going to get better if he plies his trade at the Nou Camp.

There is also excitement at Barcelona about the 24-year-old, who they believe cannot only compliment Iniesta in the team, but could go on to eventually replace the veteran midfielder.

Jurgen Klopp has made it clear that Liverpool are under no pressure to sell their top players, but it remains to be seen whether the German can convince Coutinho, who could agitate for a move to Barcelona in the summer, to snub a Camp Nou move.
