FC Copenhagen have set an asking price for defender Peter Ankersen, who has been linked with a move to Newcastle United in the summer.

The 26-year-old right-back has attracted quite a bit of interest with his solid performances in the Danish top flight, with a number of top clubs on his trail ahead of the transfer window.

Serie A outfit Fiorentina are interested in snapping up the defender in the summer, but they are not the only ones who are hoping to lay their hands on Ankersen.

Clubs such as Newcastle United, Marseille, Valencia and Galatasaray have been keeping tabs on him and Copenhagen are aware of the growing interest in their defender.

And according to Italian outlet Calcio Mercato, the Danish giants are prepared to allow him to leave the club in the summer for a transfer fee of around €4m in the upcoming window.

The Danish outfit feel the fee is justified for a regular member of their first team, who has also become a important member of the Denmark senior squad in recent months.

There are also suggestions that the price could rise in the summer if more clubs show concrete interest in Ankersen in the coming weeks and months.

The defender, who has a contract until 2020 with Copenhagen, has also earned 18 international caps for Denmark.
