Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas has indicated that Arsenal and Everton target Rachid Ghezzal could continue at the club beyond the summer transfer window.

The 25-year-old Algeria international’s future at Lyon has been a subject of debate for several months, with the winger rejecting a move to England with Everton last summer as he assessed his options.

He has little more than a month left on his contract with Lyon and many felt that it was a foregone conclusion that Ghezzal would eventually leave at the end of the season on a free transfer.

However, the Lyon president has been insisting for months that he would fight until the end of keep hold of the player and it seems his persistence has paid off as Aulas indicated that the winger is no longer pushing for a move.

Speaking to French daily Le Progres, the Lyon chief said about Ghezzal: “It seems he no longer wants to leave.
