Chelsea legend Tommy Langley believes people are not laughing at the club for signing David Luiz now.

The Blues, who clinched the Premier League title with a 1-0 win away at West Brom on Friday night, courtesy of a Michy Batshuayi goal, re-signed Luiz from Paris Saint-Germain last summer.

There was shock when Chelsea signed a player they sold to PSG in 2014 and, with Luiz having earned a reputation for less than tidy defending, there was criticism directed at the Blues.

But Luiz has been in superb form as part of a back three throughout the season for Chelsea and Langley feels fans of other clubs are not laughing now.

"People mocked us for getting David Luiz back", Langley said on Chelsea TV.

"He's been awesome, absolutely superb", he added.

Luiz has regularly lined up alongside Cesar Azpilicueta and Gary Cahill at the back for Chelsea, proving to be a key man under manager Antonio Conte.

This season's Premier League title is Luiz's first at Chelsea and the Brazilian adds the medal to successes in the FA Cup, Champions League and Europa League with the Blues.
