Antonio Conte has hailed Michy Batshuayi after he brought the striker off the bench away at West Brom and he fired Chelsea to the Premier League title with a 1-0 win.

The Blues knew that beating Tony Pulis' men would make sure Tottenham Hotspur could not catch them at the top of the table and made no mistake by sealing the deal.

It did appear though that the match was heading for a 0-0 draw, before Batshuayi, brought on with around 15 minutes left, got to a cross from Cesar Azpilicueta and steered the ball into the back of the net, making it 1-0 to the visitors with just eight minutes to go.

Chelsea then saw out the game, winning 1-0 and being crowned Premier League champions, with Conte being keen to pay tribute to the players.

"Thank you, thank you. this is a great achievement for the players. I thank them for their commitment and work rate", Conte told Sky Sports.

"They show me a great attitude to try to do something great this season. After this win we must be happy, we must be pleased."

The Italian also praised Batshuayi, who he knows paid him back for being brought on; the striker has only been used sparingly by Conte this season.

"I thought that [Eden] Hazard and Pedro were tired and we needed more energy.

"Michy paid me a lot with this change! It was great."

Chelsea can now look forward to a party atmosphere for their remaining two Premier League matches as they build up to the FA Cup final against Arsenal, where they will have the chance to claim a domestic double.
