Mauricio Pochettino feels Tottenham Hotspur’s new stadium will put Spurs on the same level as some of the bigger clubs in Europe.

Tottenham, who will be playing their last ever game at White Hart Lane against Manchester United on Sunday, are building a modern new stadium adjacent to their current home ground.

The new stadium, which is set to be ready to be opened for the beginning of the 2018/19 campaign, will boast of state-of-the-art facilities, with an estimated capacity of 61,000.

And Pochettino, whose side will be playing all their home games at Wembley next season, thinks the new stadium will help Tottenham to reach the next level.

“Yes, I think that is our expectation with the new facilities and the new stadium, to move to the last level”, he said in his pre-match press conference on Friday, when asked if he thinks the new stadium will put Tottenham on the same level as some of the European heavyweights.

“It will help Tottenham to reach that level.

“I am sure that we will try but it will be very helpful for the club to reach the last level.”

Tottenham, who played their European home games at Wembley this season, are yet to lose a match at White Hart Lane in the ongoing campaign.
