Franck Kessie is set to join AC Milan for €28m from Atalanta, it has been claimed, despite the Ivorian having been linked with a number of Premier League clubs such as Chelsea, Everton and Tottenham Hotspur.

The powerful midfielder has shone brightly for Atalanta this season and the Italian club came under pressure to sell in the winter transfer window earlier this year.

Until recently Roma had been leading the race for Kessie, but armed with new Chinese investment, AC Milan have powererd to the front of the queue and, according to Sky Italia, Kessie will be heading to the San Siro for a fee of €28m.

Kessie had been linked with a number of Premier League clubs, with talk of bids thrown in, Chelsea, Everton and Tottenham just three sides claimed to be keen on the Ivory Coast midfielder.

But it appears that Kessie will be continuing his career in Italy with AC Milan.
