Atletico Madrid are eyeing sought-after Torino striker Andrea Belotti if they fail in their bid to sign Chelsea’s Diego Costa this summer, it has been claimed.

Belotti, who has a release clause of €100m, which is applicable to only clubs outside Italy, has scored 27 goals in 36 appearances in all competitions in the present campaign.

His superb form has attracted the interest of several European heavyweights including Manchester United, Chelsea, Inter Milan and AC Milan.

And according to Spanish radio station Cadena COPE’s programme El Partidazo, Atletico Madrid are also eyeing Belotti; but Costa is their number one target.

However, the Spanish outfit consider Belotti’s release clause of €100m very high and are not willing to spend more than €60m on the striker, whose present contract with Torino runs until 2021.

Manchester United were previously claimed to be ready to put forward an initial bid of €70m to €75m for the Italy international.

It remains to be seen if the chase for Belotti heats up further this summer, with Manchester City, Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich also credited with showing interest in the 23-year-old.
