Leeds United defender Pontus Jansson is to keep fit with his former club Malmo FF during his time off over the summer.

The Whites have signed off on their season after failing to finish in the playoffs in the Championship, with players now having jetted off on holiday; full-back Luke Ayling has headed to Las Vegas.

Jansson is no exception and has returned to Sweden, but the centre-back is keen to stay in shape ahead of his country's 2018 World Cup qualifier against France in June.

As such the Leeds man is making use of the facilities at former club Malmo, making sure his fitness levels do not drop.

"It will mostly be in the gym and maybe some ball work", Jansson told the club's official site.

"This is a way for me to feel the ball and keep going first and foremost for the national team meeting in June", the Leeds man added.

Malmo are only too happy to roll the red carpet out for their former player, sporting director Daniel Andersson admits, however with the club in the middle of their domestic season, Jansson must fit around what is going on at the training base.

"Like previous years, he wants to keep going during his holiday at home in Sweden and we always keep the door open for Pontus", Andersson explained.

"But the planning for Malmo FF's matches is of course the most important.

"That's why he is involved to the extent that it fits in with our own business."

Jansson featured on a regular basis for Leeds in the recently concluded Championship season and is set to move to the club permanently following the end of his loan from Torino.
