Atalanta have rejected an offer for Chelsea and Liverpool target Andrea Conti from Atletico Madrid, according to Italian outlet Tutto Mercato.

The 23-year-old full-back has attracted a bouquet of admirers due to his performances this season and a number of clubs have been queuing up to snare him away from Atalanta in the summer.

Clubs such as Chelsea, Liverpool and Bayern Munich are keeping close tabs on him ahead of the transfer window and even AC Milan are plotting to snap him up in the coming months.

But it seems the first real shot in the chase for Conti has been fired by Atletico Madrid as it has been claimed that they slapped in a €14m offer for the former Italy Under-21 international.

However, it seems Atalanta are prepared to fight to keep Conti at the club as they have knocked back the bid from the Spanish giants and feel the fee is not good enough for a player of his ability.

Atletico Madrid are in the market for a full-back and it remains to be seen whether they add a few more million to their offer and look to tempt Atalanta to sell the defender.

And clubs such as Chelsea and Liverpool could also follow suit in the coming days and slap in bids for Conti now that they know what kind of price Atalanta won’t be accepting this summer.
