Mikael Lustig believes the current Celtic crop is the best Hoops team he has played in.

The Bhoys, who are unbeaten domestically in the present campaign, have already lifted the Scottish Premiership title and the Scottish League Cup.

Celtic have now won the league title for the sixth consecutive season, with Lustig being involved in every title win.

And the defender, who feels it is the best Celtic team during his time at Paradise, however was quick to add that that the Bhoys’ double-winning side of the 2012/13 campaign was also good.

“I think the way we’ve been playing and the way we can play in different styles, it’s absolutely the best I think”, he told Celtic TV, when asked if the current side is the best Celtic team he has played in.

“Of course, the season where we won the double was a really, really good squad as well with really good players.

“We did some great things, but this season has been fantastic.”

Celtic will next face Partick Thistle away on Thursday before concluding their league campaign with a game against Hearts at Parkhead; Brendan Rodgers’ team will then play Aberdeen in the Scottish Cup final on 27th May.

The Hoops will finish their domestic season unbeaten if they manage to come out with positive results from the three games.

“People have been talking about it [finishing unbeaten] for a while. ‘Can they do it?’”, he added.

“It’s now down to just three games.

“We would like to do the same thing we did the whole season – working really hard, not taking any game for granted and being focussed.

“Partick on Thursday is going to be a tough game.

“They have a really good side, it’s tough to go there. But we will be up for it.”
