AS Monaco co-owner Prince Albert II is confident that the club will be able to hold on to Manchester United and Real Madrid target Kylian Mbappe this summer.

The 18-year-old striker's goals powered Monaco to their first Ligue 1 title on Wednesday night after more than half-a-decade and his performances in the Champions League have also been eye catching.

Monaco have already knocked back a mega money offer from Manchester United for the young striker and Real Madrid are also plotting to snare him away from the Stade Louis II in the summer.

Mbappe is yet to make a decision on his future at the club and the reigning monarch of the Principality of Monaco and head of the House of Grimaldi, who owns a third of the club, admits that he is doesn’t know whether the striker will continue at Monaco.

However, the prince insisted that Mbappe himself wants to stay and feels he wouldn’t go against his father, who is claimed to be against making a move this summer.

Asked if Mbappe will remain at Monaco, Prince Albert II told French broadcaster Canal+: “I don’t have the answer.

“All I can say that he wants to stay and I don’t think I am wrong to say that his father wants him to stay.

“There could still be some last minute changes that I might not be aware of, but for now he will be at Monaco next season.”

Monaco are considering offering a new contract to the teenage striker to further enhance their chances of holding on to him.
