Liverpool have moved ahead of PSV Eindhoven, RB Leipzig and Tottenham Hotspur by agreeing to take young defender Perr Schuurs on trial.

The centre-back, who is just 17 years old, has been attracting scouts to Sittard. His potential has been noted, with Schuurs enjoying regular senior team football at Fortuna Sittard.

PSV Eindhoven are keen on the youngster, while scouts from RB Leipzig and Spurs have made the trek to watch Schuurs in action.

But Liverpool have moved a step further than the trio and, according to Dutch magazine Voetbal International, Schuurs is to have a trial at the Anfield giants.

The trial is aimed to introduce Schuurs to Liverpool and also allow the Premier League side to take a closer look at the talent.
